Top 5 Best Artisan Chocolates in Los Angeles, a blog post by Liz in Los Angeles, top Los Angeles blogger, an image of a blonde women wearing a white dress and animal print beret holding artisan chocolate with red roses petals flying around

Hello, my name is Liz, and I’m a chocolate-addict. Artisan chocolate to be exact. So, I know where to find the Top 5 Best Artisan Chocolates in Los Angeles.

I love chocolate. But not any chocolate. I love artisan chocolate. Since artisan chocolate is real chocolate in my opinion. It consists of more cocoa vs sugar like commercial chocolate.  Therefore, I see artisan chocolate as guilt-free since it’s all-natural and is not filled with sugar. I believe it is actually good for you. Healthy chocolate improves your mood, helps weight loss, and lowers blood pressure. It is filled with antioxidants (read more at Health Benefits of Chocolate). Thankfully, there are plenty of places I can find artisan Chocolate in Los Angeles.

But I can’t be the only person who loves chocolate. Since there are multiple days dedicated to celebrating chocolate.

  • Valentines Day on February 14
  • World Chocolate Day on July 7
  • National Milk Chocolate Day on July 28
  • National Chocolate Day on October 28
  • Halloween on October 31
  • Chocolate Covered Anything Day on December 16

John Kelly Chocolates is a handmade artisan chocolate company in Los Angeles. It is gluten-free and kosher. But it goes without saying that its chocolates are natural. The chocolate is very rich and the fudge truffles, their specialty, are mouth-watering. The boutique is very elegant. They make amazing gifts since super chic prepackaged boxes. John Kelly Chocolates is located in West Hollywood.

Compartes Chocolatier has the most colorful artisan chocolates and interesting flavors in Los Angeles. Since they offer unique flavors such as rose water, milk chocolate avocado, and white chocolate matcha.  But don’t worry, they have regular flavors too. The chocolate bars have fun names like Donuts and Coffee, Apple Pie, Coney Island, California Love, and Cereal Bowl. Compares has a boutique in Brentwood, Century City Mall and Hollywood.

03. Valerie Confections, Local Bakery in Los Angeles

One word. Lavender. Valerie Confections is a artisan boutique bakery with two location in Los Angeles that sell lavender chocolate. How awesome is that?  Since lavender is the new craze and my latest obsession. But they are known for their Instagram-worthy petit fours and matcha truffle is another favorite. This bakery also offers mouth watery cakes. They are located in Koreatown.

04. ChocoViva, Bean-to Bar Artisan Chocolate in Los Angeles

ChocoVivo is a bean-to-bar chocolate company in Los Angeles. Bean-to-bar chocolate basically means chocolate made from scratch starting with the whole beans, everything is made at the same place or company. That’s why, ChocoViva is one of the only places in Los Angeles where you can learn how chocolate is made. It’s the only chocolatier in Los Angeles that offers chocolate-blended tortillas.

05. Milla Chocolate, Award Winning Chocolate

If I had one word for Milla Chocolate, it would minimalist. Milla Chocolate has a chic and minimalist store in Culver City, Los Angeles. They handcraft chocolates and confections at the boutique but the hazelnut Praliné bars are award-winning. But that’s not it! The Blood Orange Bar, Black Sesame Caramel Bon Bon and Bronze for the Hazelnut Bon Bon are also award-winning chocolates.

The best celebrations start and end with chocolate. So why not make it artisan chocolate. Don’t kill your taste buds with chocolate filled with sugar. So glad, there are so many option in LA for artisan chocolate.
