Best Fitness Studios in Los Angeles
Location: Silver Lake
I have to admit what drove me to Paris Pilates was the decor, but it soon became one of my favorite studios. The staff is friendly. The instructors always pushed me to the max. This studio is for you if you love an awesome French playlist, looking for a vigorous workout without any potential injuries and a clean studio. I highly recommend this studio to men who want to try pilates. Don’t let the pink ceiling fool you! I have seen more guys at this pilates studio than any other one.
But don’t forget your grip socks since you can’t workout without them. If you do forget, don’t worry. They sell cute ones at the front desk. You can find nearby cafes (like Dayglow) for a quick pre-workout coffee and restaurants (like MIXT) for a post-workout meal. A single class is $20 for new clients, $30 for regular, or new client 2-week unlimited for $115. Tons of promotions going right now. A retreat in Paris in March 2020. Free parking lot with plenty of spaces.
Location: West Hollywood (Third St/La Cienega)
My initial reaction to the class was to walk out! It was too challenging! If it is your first time taking AirFit class, understand it is going to challenge you (possibly your second and third classes). But when you get the hang of it, that when the fun begins. It’s not only fun but addictive. Dancers will get a hang of this class quickly. This class is for you if you want to push yourself out of your comfort zone and have no fear of heights.
Sneakers or socks are not required during the classes. But you do have to keep your jewelry off. Each class is $30 for new clients or $99 for a month. Free parking lot. It’s located in a fantastic spot on 3rd St to find post-workout fuel like Kreation a few doors down the studio.
Locations: Hollywood (Sycamore), West Hollywood (Kings Rd), Brentwood, Studio City and Venice (open 2020)
This studio is unique, that’s why it’s one of the nest workout classes in LA in 2020. PLATEFIT is a high-intensity interval training workout on top of a vibrating plate called Power Plates. The guided class uses hand weights, bands, and smash balls. The workout classes at Sycromore also incorporate TRX. The classes are only 27-minute, which I think is perfect. You burn enough calories in those 27-minute. Vibration workouts wake the body’s cell, increase circulation, and detoxes the lymphatic system. The original HIIT class is PLATEFIT Vibration Training but you can also find Barre, WarriorFit and RecoveryFIT/Detox – Vibration Therapy among the classes you on the schedule. I love taking RecoveryFIT/Detox – Vibration Therapy right after PLATEFIT Vibration. It’s the best stretch ever.
But don’t forget your grip socks since you can’t workout without them. If you do forget, don’t worry. They sell cute ones at the front desk. Two-week unlimited is $49 for new clients. Free parking lot with plenty of spaces at the Hollywood location. Street parking only for WeHo and Brentwood location.
Location: West Hollywood (Melrose/La Cienega)
It’s one of a kind workout. Health House combines rowing and strength training for a total body workout. On one side of the room, there are rowing machines and on the other side benches with weights. The class is dark and loud, so if you don’t like it, this studio is not for you. But if you’re looking for an energetic and intense workout, the workout classes at this studio is perfect for you. Everyone at the class seemed to be a regular and know each other. The studio has a juice bar.
A single class is $29, with current promotions going on for monthly passes. Validation is provided for the parking lot across Melrose (two blocks) or street parking. UNPLUG Mediation is across the street. Alfred To-Go is in the alley downstairs.
Location: Beverly Hills
Element Fitness is a multidimensional experience. It’s a 1:1 personal training using EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation). EMS sends electrical impulses to your muscle fibers and increases the intensity of strength training. So the workout is only 20-minutes, but it’s an equivalent of an hour or two. It tricks your body into thinking you’re working more intensely. Workout clothes are provided since you have to fit into a suit connected to electric impulses. The workout is followed by a myofascial massage, which feels amazing. This workout is expensive, but it saves time, and you’ll see results faster. You can personal attention and your personal trainer track your results.
Since this is a luxury gym, the prices reflect that! Contact the front desk for the rates. But don’t forget to use my code “liz20” to get 20% off. Street parking only.
Fitness Studios in Los Angeles – reminder …
When it comes to fitness studios in Los Angeles, always remember not to compare yourself with anyone else in the class. Do your best, but always go at your own pace. Most likely, the ones who are outpacing everyone else in the class are personal trainers or fitness models since it is Los Angeles after all.
Which workout would you try? I would love to know.
