LA Food Bowl – #31daysoffood
Los Angeles Times Food Bowl is an annual, month-long foodie festival celebrating Los Angeles’s amazing and dynamic food scene. “There are long-table feasts to chef collaborations, parking lot pop-ups and Night Market in Grand Park. FOOD BOWL is a month-long celebration of the extraordinary people and food that make L.A. the most exciting foodie city in the world.” Foodie events such as Taco Tribute (May 9), Fried Chicken Party (May 10), L.A.’s Best Burgers (May 11), Dumplings, Noodles & Rice (May 11), and All-Star BBQ (May 11). Colorful Mother’s Day Celebration Happy Hour
The Social Type x ORLY Color Labs invite you and your mom on May 4th to create your custom nail polish at the ORLY Color Labs. Enjoy complimentary calligraphy by Aspacia Kusulas of Kous Design, and manicures (purchase required) – $5 of each sale is donated to Elizabeth House (non-profit that supports pregnant women who lack adequate shelter and prenatal care). To RSVP, click here.
*Need to ship your color and card? ORLY Color Labs will ship it for you anywhere in the continental U.S. (Your mom’s going to love it.)
Amazon Prime Experience
On May 4th, join Amazon Prime Video and Los Angeles Confidential for a conversation with stunt coordinator Jean Frenette (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan). He will discuss what it takes behind the scenes to create the breathtaking stunts on television and movies. Frenette will teach guests stunt choreography. Afterward, attendees can visit the Amazon Prime Experience installations, which are dedicated to the Amazon shows up for the Emmy’s For Your Consideration (FYC). It’s FYC season in LA, which means studios invite Academy members to lavish events to promote their shows for the Emmys. This is the only event in May (that I know of) open to the public. To reserve your free ticket, click here.
Mother’s Day Sound Meditation
PC: Five Sense Collective PC: Five Sense Collective
Celebrate Mother’s Day with Five Sense Collective in Malibu on Sunday, Mary 12th. You can treat the person that guided your path on Mother Earth to a sound meditation that comes with a picturesque view. Click here to secure your spot. Beverly Hills artSHOW
On May 18-91, 245 artists fill Beverly Hills Gardens Park with their art, painting, and photography. It’s the best time to discover new artists in the heart of Beverly Hills. It is a free art show but for information, visit www.beverlyhills.org/exploring/beverlyhillsartshow/artshowinformation.
Cinespia
Los Angeles’s most popular outdoor movie theatre kicks off its season. It’s probably the original outdoor movie theatre. This season starts with a screening of Beetlejuice at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. See this season’s schedule and buy tickets at cinespia.org/.
Topanga Days
Spend Memorial Day week enjoying concerts, a parade, various games like sack races and horseshoes. This sounds like an old-school town fair like the ones in the 80s movies. To find out more, click here.
Pop-Up Disney
Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration is open in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort! This Mickey Celebration will transport you through a series of cute interactive galleries celebrating the one and only Mickey Mouse! Everything is inspired by all things Mickey. Have a glorious Mother’s Day,
