An Interview with Melanee Shale, LA Blogger in Los Angeles
01. What are your favorite curbside pick restaurants in Los Angeles?
Bianca Bakery LA, True Food Kitchen, Jon, and Vinny’s.
02. What’s the best thing about being an influencer? What’s the biggest struggle as a Los Angeles Blogger?
I’ve been an influencer since 2012 and the best thing has been the close friendships I’ve made over the years. We started at a time when we weren’t sure where this influencer world was going and without each other’s support and guidance, I don’t think I would still be doing it today. For me, my biggest struggle is just staying consistent since I work full-time. Today, everyone is an influencer and it’s become an extremely oversaturated market especially in L.A. I have to constantly push myself to remain relevant otherwise you get lost in the sea.
03. Where is your favorite fashion boutique in LA to shop from as a Fashion Blogger?
Honestly, I’m an online shopper now! The only store I visit in person is Zara. Some of my favorite boutiques online are…Petal and Pup for cute dresses and tops, 12th Tribe for cute and comfy loungewear sets and of course I love the affordable well known sites such as Asos, H&M and Nastygal.
4. How do you foster cohesion with your audience as a fashion blogger?
I try to remain authentic to who I am and what I love. I try to show my real life on stories since my feed shows mostly beautiful, edited images that may not give you a direct look into who I really am. If you watch my stories, you’ll see that my life is pretty simple, I live in a one-bedroom apartment with my husband and two adopted dogs. I love to talk about real-life situations that I know many women can relate to!
05. What are your favorite ways to give back to Los Angeles?
Right now with the pandemic and everything going on with Black Lives Matter, it’s important to give back to the community and help support small businesses and Black-owned businesses including restaurants.
