The Best Juice Cleanse from Cali
So, it is not the first time that I went on a juice cleanse but it was the first time I tried Suja Juice. Suja is the best juice cleanse from Cali.

I go on juice cleanses not because they are popular or to lose weight. I do it because every once in awhile, I need to remind myself to eat mindfully. I’m an emotional eater, therefore, I tend to eat really fast. When I eat too fast, I eat more than I should and feel hungry all the time. However, I become more mindful when eating after juicing. Then no overeating or hungry feeling throughout the day.

I choose Suja Juice after thorough research online. “Suja named #2 in Forbes Most Promising Companies in 2015.” Click here to read more. It is privately held but distributed via Coco-Cola (more here). Suja Juices are USDA Certified Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, Kosher, dairy-free, soy-free, and gluten-free. They are produced in California.
There were two levels of intensity: Original Fresh Start (for first-timers) and Core Fresh Start (for the experienced juicer). The difference is the number of green juices consumed daily. I wasn’t a first-timer but I still choose the Original Fresh Start.
Two weeks prior to starting the juice program, I was on a low-carb diet (not necessary but works for me). However, it is recommended to eliminate coffee, alcohol, dairy, red meat, sugar, and white flour bread products a couple of days before the cleanse. I normally drink juices and raw food 2 days prior to and post juicing to ease in and out of it. Click here to learn more about what to do or not do during a cleanse.
The Juices

I wish I could start every morning with the Glow juice (Breakfast), it was so refreshing. The Fuel (Midmorning) and Purify (Lunch) were absolutely delish and make great snacks when not juicing. The difference between Suja juices and other juices was the Fuel and Purify contained carrots, which I found to be more filling. Twelve Essentials (Mid-Afternoon) was not my favorite but the Green Supreme (Dinner) made up for it. The Blue Dream (Dessert) was the Turkish delight – it contained chia seed, blueberry puree, and almond milk.

The Suja Juices tend to be on the fruit side than vegetables but then again I choose the less intense one. For an odd reason, I feel more energetic when juicing. I did cheat though. When I felt like I need to chew on something, I had a cucumber or celery sticks. It’s easier for me to juice when the weather is warm since I crave cold food anyway. Overall, I was pretty pleased with the cleanse and would do it again.

My new thing is drinking Apple Cider Drinking Vinegar. I was delighted to try Suja Apple Cider Vinegar Waters. They all tasted delicious but I’m not sure how I feel about them containing Stevia (a natural sugar substitute) since the healthy community has mixed opinion about it. It is tastier and more convenient than the ones I prepare myself.

I’m just sharing my experience with you guys. I don’t think juicing is for everyone. You should consult a physician first if you decide to juice and the best way to juice is under the supervision of a nutritionist. More importantly, I think you should listen to your body and see if you’re up for it.

I’ve been wanting to try out the ones with the vinegar! I actually really love their juices and try and do cleanses every once and awhile. I’m an emotional eater too lol
