What is Purim?
Purim is a holiday as told in the Book of Esther. The heroine is Esther. She is yet another strong woman in Jewish history who helped save her people.
How Purim is Celebrated
Purim is a fun holiday since there’s dancing, drinking and tons of food. On this festive holiday, we read the Book of Esther. We send fruit gift baskets to friends and family. We have a festive meal. But, we also donate to those in need. Other customs include wearing masks and costumes. We bake Hamantaschens. Hamantaschen is a popular cookie recipe made during the Jewish holiday Purim.
