The best Taco Tuesday spot is Pez Cantina they have some of the best seafood and our favorite tacos in LA – their Thrillist champion tacos made with Red Argentine Shrimp Diablo, Squid ink Tortilla, Charred Scallion Slaw, & Shrimp Chicharron. They are absolute perfection and everything you could want in a taco…house made tortilla, large Argentine shrimp which are sweet like prawns and always perfectly cooked. House sauces that add the right amount of heat and acidity plus crunchy chicharron for texture! They are the perfect blend of ingredients that make up the best taco in LA!

Picture this: a whole hunk of al pastor (split-grilled pork) roasted and glazed right in front of you. The smell of the smokiness plus the aroma of sweet/ juicy grilled pineapple slice is only the beginning. On the side of the truck is a DIY condiment bar from salsa verde, to rojas, to cilantro onions, and can’t forget the crunchy red radishes and citrusy green limes. El Flamin Tacos is the definition of what tacos should be: street style, palm-sized, fresh, and most of all — BANG FOR THE BUCK! I got 7 tacos al pastor, an horchata, and a bottle of Mexican coke – all for under $20.
While I appreciate a sit-down restaurant with thin house-made tortilla chips and salsa, I also do adore the flavors of authentic street food. Find them on select evenings of the week in Koreatown, Hollywood, Los Feliz, and Echo Park!

Camly Me’s Best Taco Tuesday in Downtown LA Picks:
An LA native, Camly Nguyen went to UCLA. She works full time as a Data Analyst for a nonprofit. When she isn’t trying to change education in this city, she’s an avid Foodie. She’s a Yelp Elite, who is simply trying to find the best food spots in LA. She’s basically your human Yelp.
1) Mezcalero
We start off with some fancy tacos. This place also happens to be my favorite happy hour spot in DTLA. Not only can you get some fantastic tacos but they have $7 craft cocktails. These tacos are $5 (I know, it is expensive) but on Tuesdays, they do $3 tacos (it’s so worth it). My favorites are the Baja and Zarandeado because I love seafood. The Baja is a fried fish taco, which a slaw, craisins, and a delicious chipotle sauce. The combination is seriously to die for. Then you have the Zarandeado, which is a grilled shrimp with a pico and cabbage, which is simple and clean. Seriously, so worth the splurge and probably one of the best happy hours in Downtown.
2) Leo’s Tacos
This is our street taco! They serve up my favorite Al Pastor in the city. It seriously is so cool to watch; they have their large spits of meat and the pineapple staked to the top, with their large machete-like knives. It’s a show watching them cut the meat off of the massive spits and catching the pineapple mid-air. Plus, at $1.25 each, and they have a killer avocado salsa you can’t beat. The lines might look crazy, but they are super quick and so worth it.
3) Casa la Dona
Last but not least on the Best Taco Tuesday on Downtown LA. This hidden gem is the best of both worlds! Not only do they have cheap tacos with the $1 Taco Tuesday specials, but they also have so many different options. The choices are unique from vegetarian options like Nopal (cactus) and Hongos (mushrooms) in cream to your standard Pollo (chicken) they have something for everyone. Also, when we talk about big salsa bars, they have one so many options from Habanero to Pineapple. Add this to your list of Taco Tuesday in Downtown LA stops and experience this deliciousness.
