July will look different compared to most years. Since large events and festivals are still canceled. We still need to avoid crowds and minimize time spent in indoor spaces with multiple people.  But how do you beat the heat in Los Angeles when you must move as many activities as possible outdoors? There are things to do with kids in July. Tons of fun things to do with the family outdoors while still keeping cool. Here are Top 5 Things to Do in LA in July to Beat the Summer Heat.

Tips: Drink lots of water, and homemade lemonade can be refreshing too. Avoid taking in alcohol while lapping up the sun as that can increase dehydration. Drinking hot black tea with a slice of lemon helps beat the heat, and iced tea just about beats the lot! More tips here.

01. Things to Do in LA in July: Visit Descanso Garden

Descanso Gardens is a 150-acre botanical garden in Los Angeles. It’s so colorful and picturesque. Ideally, Descanso Gardens is on the list of things to do in LA in March since that’s when the lilacs and roses are in bloom (March). But it is still beautiful in July. Most of the garden is shaded like the Japanese garden and gazebos. Descanso Gardens has something for anybody that appreciates nature. Descanso Gardens is one of the fun things to do with the family.

The Annenberg Community Beach House at Santa Monica State Beach is a public facility located on 5 acres of oceanfront property.  This beach house in Los Angeles is one of the things to do with the family that kids will love. You can eat lunch while your toes are in the sand. You challenge your kids to a game of Ping-Pong or giant Connect Four in the game room. Visit the mini splash pad and playground. Take a beach volleyball, paddleboard, or yoga class. It’s a unique beach house in Los Angeles with tons of things to do.
