Top 10 Things To Do in LA in April While Under Quarantine, a blog post by Liz in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Lifestyle Blogger: an image of Los Angeles

Happy April! I hope you are staying safe and healthy. This wasn’t an easy blog post to write. Every month, I curate a list of fun events and pop-ups in LA. Of course, this month that’s not possible. But during this global crisis, we have to stay positive and be resourceful. This month, I curated a list Top 10 Things To Do in LA in April While Under Quarantine to help you stay home and safe! Looking forward to the light at the end of this tunnel.

10 Things To Do in LA in April While Under Quarantine

01. Learn to Dance

Dancing improves mood, lowers stress and anxiety. Dance is a great therapy tool. Learning to dance can help you understand yourself. It is a great way to keep yourself busy while in quarantine while you will be the star of parties when the quarantine is over. There are tons of virtual and online classes to motivate to dance to the beat.

02. Learn A Foreign Language

If you were wanted to learn a foreign language, right now is the best. You are at home. You have no distraction. More importantly, you can fully immerse yourself in the language by listening to music and watch movies in that language. It’s one of the top things to do in LA in April since LA is so multilingual. There are tons of online classes to assist you.

03. Start A Podcast

If you have a brand, a message, or love inspiring others, there is no better time to start a podcast. Podcasts are a great way to build an audience and they are very engaging. The hosts (Kista Williams & Lindsey Simcik) of The Almost 30 Podcast have created a comprehensive, online course on how to launch the podcast of your dreams called Podcast Pro. This is one of the top things to do in LA in April since it’s the biggest creative trend.

04. Learn Photography

Photography is therapy. It is a creative outlet and it is a great way to relieve stress. It’s one of the top things to do in LA in April since the empty streets of Los Angeles make great photography subjects, especially since almost smog-free.

05. Bake Bread

Baking bread is time-consuming, yummy as well relaxing. It’s a great distraction from what’s going. There are so many great recipes online.

06. Become A Wellness Coach

If COVID-19 has impacted your career and you are looking for a career change, think about becoming a wellness coach. It’s been a popular career in LA and more classes are popping up in LA. During this crisis and its aftermath, more and more people will be looking for wellness advice. If you have the desire to help others work through unhealthy stress levels, check out What is A Wellness Coach.

07. Learn to Sew

Engaging in a mindful activity like sewing can help us pay attention to our thoughts and feelings, which can improve our mental health. Plus, the LA mayor just recommended wearing face masks in public (April 1st). You can learn to sew face masks for the tons of LA residents that will need it especially the elderly. The benefit of helping others is endless.

08. Grow Plants

Growing plants has so benefits as many as eating plants. Growing plants has shown to boost mood, productivity, concentration, and creativity. Also, it reduces stress, fatigue, sore throats, and colds.

09. Discover A New Workout

Grab your yoga mat or boxing gloves so you get your heart pumpin’! It’s the best time to discover a new workout that you always wanted to try but didn’t have time. There so many great workout apps to try at home while you are in quarantine in LA during April.

10. Play DJ

Create killer playlists on Spotify. Your workout playlist. The playlist to listen to during your commute. Your romantic dinner playlist. It’s one of those things that we never have time for so right now is the perfect time to do it.

Love that your list was different than the same three ideas everyone else seems to be giving. Learning Tik Tok dances is on my agenda. I would loveeee to starta a podcast but have too much else going on right now. Maybe when the semester is over.

Thanks for checking it out. I love that TikTok is on your agenda. I should have added that to the list too. You should make a podcast a priority. It’s the next big thing.

I was surprised to see how many of you in my community are also emotional eaters. I think the biggest struggle of emotional eating imho is that you don’t even notice how much you’re eating. I once binge ate a box of salami without even realizing cuz I thought I had failed an exam. ⁣
⁣
The best tip I can give you is instead of focusing on emotional eating, focus on the emotions and know they’re temporary. That’s what I remind myself. ⁣

We collectively have difficult memories of this pa We collectively have difficult memories of this past year. But we can still leave 2020 with a sweet note by concentrating on all the good things (no matter how small) happened this year! 🥳⁣
⁣
I know I stressed out a lot by worrying about the health of my family and friends. I felt truly isolated because of social distancing. But, I also miraculously found a job after being unemployed for what felt like a decade + my mom TG is (slowly) recovering from two minor surgeries (which could have been worse if not diagnosed right away)! I also had the support of my IG community when I felt lonely or bored (so thank you guys 💋)⁣
⁣
And we can welcome 2021 with a prayer: Praying this year to be better and healthier and happier. 🎆🎊🎉⁣
