OK, so none of us thought we would be in this situation but here we are. Dealing with protecting yourself from the virus, the mass hysteria and the effects of self-isolation can be stressful. Here are 5 Ways to Destress at Home When Under Quarantine or self-isolation.

5 Ways to Destress at Home When Under Quarantine

Breathwork

Breathwork is my latest obsession and one of the best ways to destress. It is breathing practices in which you control your breathing to influence your mental, emotional or physical health. It has a therapeutic effect. You can bring down your heartbeat in a few minutes when you’re feeling anxious and stressed.

Meditation

Daily meditation eases anxiety and reduces stress. It can generate kindness. We can use that right now more than ever. If you have Amazon Alexa, the can use the guided meditation on Alexa. Calm and Headspace are great apps ⁣for meditation. Take a look at the best meditation classes in Los Angeles, most of them are offering virtual classes now.

Gratitude Journal

I love this practice. A gratitude journal is one of the best ways to destress since it helps you focus your attention on the positive things in your life. You write down five things you are grateful for every day. All-day my mind is searching for things to be grateful so I can write it down at night. I’m trying to get the whole family to journal with me.

Therapy

Virtual therapy is also one of the best ways to destress and reduce anxiety. Mental fitness apps like Bloom offer interactive video sessions combines with guided journaling and breathwork to improve your mental health. I don’t recommend these apps for anyone with serious diagnosed issues. However, it is an affordable and accessible therapy to deal with mass hysteria and being overwhelmed by daily life battles. ⁣

Workouts to Music

I started the day with half of an hour of workout in my living room thanks to LES MILLS On Demand Fitness. LES MILLS On Demand has hardcore workouts as well as recovery classes to amazing playlists. The classes range from Tai Chi to Hardcore Boxing. To try for 14 days for FREE, click here.
